As part of the documentation of the sections of the vessel ELENI P., a database was developed to store the necessary information regarding the objects of cultural heritage as well as their digital three-dimensional representation.
The stored data is capable of providing visitors with information about the object, its history, and more. The database was designed in such a way that it can store all the necessary structured information that describes, explains, locates, or facilitates the retrieval, use, or management of a digital document.
The information stored in the database follows the basic interoperability specifications for the inclusion of the digital cultural object in the National Aggregator of Digital Cultural Resources as well as the European digital platform “Europeana”.
This allows for the display of the cultural heritage object both at a national and international level, enabling its utilization for educational purposes as well as research.
